florida bracing for hurricane matthew to make landfall. the eye of the storm is just miles off the coast now. the state is still getting pounded with strong winds and rain right now. hundreds of thousand are without power...and millions have evacuated. angelica joins us now with the latest. winds off florida's coast right now around 120 miles per hour...and the storm category three hurricane. but it is still considered extremely dangerous. forecasters predict storm surge in some areas could be as high as 11 feet and as many as 15 inches of rain could fall. the national weather service warned that some places could be uninhabitable for "weeks or months." hurricane matthew has already killed hundreds in the caribbean...the death toll now over 280 in haiti. our meteorologist stephanie barichello is tracking the storm. stephanie -- what is the latest

millions of people are urged to evacuate as hurricane matthew bears down on florida ...and in a rare move - disney world has shut down... one mequon family is cau the middle of the mess. deandra corinthios is live from mitchell international airport with their story. thousands of flights around the country are cancelled from milwaukee...flights to orlando are canceled...those airports shut down because of the storm. leaving one mequon family stuck in florida with no way to get home. the linneman lin-uh-min family began their week in hilton head, south carolina before mandatory evacuations were ordered.the

responding to a fatal shooting this morning. this is the scene near 38th and wright. police do confirm that this is a shooting and are investigating. we're working on getting more information. we'll bring you any updates as soon as they come into our newsroom. and that deadly shooting the latest overnight. four other shooting incidents being investigated by police. let's start at sherman and lancaster where officers responded to a shooting around 7-50 last night. police say a fight broke out over a facebook feud. during the dispute, a suspect fired several shots into the group-- hitting a the hospital and is expected to survive. less than half an hour later-- around 8-15-- police responded to another non-fatal shooting. this one near 18-th and pearl. investigators say a 25-year-old man was shot after he was confronted by an unknown suspect. he was taken to the hospital. police say a fight over a car led to another shooting around 10-30 last night. this happened near 83-rd and glen. officials say during the fight, the suspect grabbed a gun and shot a 25- year-old man. he was taken to the hospital and is

5-10 mph traffic check red on traffic map = major delays yellow on traffic map = some delays green on traffic map = no delays the f-b-i looking for two men believed to be armed and dangerous. their believed to be members of the "maniac latin disciples -- or m-l-d's. that gang was targeted in a massive raid by federal agents yesterday morning. that pre- dawn raid. police k-9's and police visited dozens of homes throughout the area looking for gang members or drug dealers. in total 28 people were arrested -- and most are part of the m-l-d gang. they will face federal and state charges ranging from narcotics trafficking to armed robbery officials said this was one of the largest roundups in many years.. the f-b-i is still looking for your help locating two men: 33-year old erik en-sense-ee-oh

a sudden plunge for the british pound today. the currency nosediving more than 6-percent against the dollar in a matter of minutes. the sudden plunge in early trading in asia left investors stunned and analysts struggling to explain what could have caused such an unusual move. the pound had already sunk to a dollar-26 on thursday over deepening concerns that the u.k.'s split from the european union will hurt the country's economy. the pound is down 16-percent since the brexit. the space race is on! boeing claiming it will beat space-x to put the first humans on mars. the c-e-o of boeing made the pledge at a conference in chicago. boeing is already building a rocket with nasa for the mission. this comes after space-x c-e-o elon musk unveiled his plans to colonize mars. musk said he is going to

engineer hit the emergency brake less than a second before the crash. the national transportation safety board says information from recording devices on the train show that it was moving at eight-miles-per-hour 38 seconds before the crash. it then sped up to 21-miles-per-hour before hitting a platform at the hoboken terminal. the speed limit for the station area is 10 miles per hour. one person was killed.... and more than 110 others hurt. the n-t-s-b says the investigation is in its early sta more to complete. new video released from the stabbings at a minnesota mall -- we do warn you -- some of the video is disturbing. 20-old dahir amed adan entered the crossroads center mall in st. cloud last month, dressed in a private security guard uniform and holding what appeared to be a kitchen knife. he stabbed or cut ten people before an off-duty police officer shot and killed him. in one of the videos from inside a store, people are seen running in the mall. adan attempts to enter

f-b-i special agent says adan made at least one reference to allah and asked at least one victim if he or she was muslim. a county attorney announced yesterday that the officer who shot and killed adan -- was justified in his use of deadly force. and in missouri - a saint louis county police officer is dead after being shot by a suspect. it happened early thursday morning. officer blake snyder was responding to a disturbance call in green park. he encountered a suspect who was sitting in the front seat of a vehicle. show his hands and that's when the suspect opened fire. snyder died from the gunshot wound. another officer responding saw the shooting -- and opened fire on the suspect who is expected to survive. the suspect has been identified as 18- year-old trenton forster. snyder was 33-years-old and had a wife and a son. we continue to track hurricane matthew making its way up florida's coast. the storm has weakened to a category three hurricane -- but is

and let's take a look at just how destructive hurricane matthew has been over the last few days. in haiti -- more than 280 people are dead -- and the death toll is expected to keep rising as authorities reach remote areas left isolated by the storm.. bodies have started to appear as waters recede in some areas two days after matthew smashed concrete walls, flattened palm trees and tore roofs off homes. united nations peacekeepers are on hand to help the thousands affected. and this is the fiercest storm decade. this video showing hurricane matthew's power in the bahamas. palm trees reduced to splinters by the intense winds. meanwhile -- officials in the u-s taking the threat of hurricane matthew making landfall seriously. ten million people have been told to evacuate inland from the florida's east coast. howling winds and rains are pummeling the coast. the strongest winds just offshore over 100 miles per hour. hundreds of thousands are

wakeup news. the last fall harvest for michelle obama at the white house garden in the books.. she invited kids to help her pick vegetables...and they got a special visitor to help out. president obama made a cameo appearance..,rolling up his sleeve helping harvest the healthy food. growing power founder and c-e-o -- will allen -- also on hand to help. after picking the vegetables -- the students prepared a fresh meal. michelle obama started the garden in 2009 with the help of white house groundskeepers, and it's tripled in size since. during that time she's also added beehives, a compost system, and a pollinators' garden to attract birds and butterflies. earlier this week, mrs. obama unveiled a historic marker in the garden and announced a 2-point-9-million- dollar
